Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays a role in regulating mood, appetite, sleep, and other functions. 5-HTP is derived from the seeds of an African plant called Griffonia simplicifolia, and is often used as an alternative treatment for depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
